The Kanchi Mutt Head Sri Vijayendra Saraswathi Swamigal was accorded a rousing reception at the Kanchi Mutt on Besant Road in Madurai on Monday.
A large number of disciples of the Mutt and the general public had assembled and sought the blessings of the Pontiff.
According to the reception committee members, the Pontiff would camp in Madurai city till September 30 and is scheduled to perform special pujas at the Sri Mutt here in Chokkikulam.
The Mutt Head is also visiting Melur in Madurai district on October 1 where the Swamigal would address the disciples on the Kanchi Mutt premises.
