Kannan assumes charge as Coimbatore City Police Commissioner

Kannan took charge as the new Police Commissioner of Coimbatore City on Sunday, following the recent transfer and promotion orders issued by the Tamil Nadu government for IPS officers.
As per the orders, Saravana Sundar, who was serving as the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner, has been transferred and appointed as Inspector General of Police, Western Zone.
Chennai Metropolitan Police (South) Additional Commissioner for Law and Order Kannan was appointed as the new Coimbatore City Police Commissioner in his place.
Kannan arrived at the City Police Commissioner’s office on Sunday, formally signed files and assumed office. Senior police officers and staff welcomed him and extended their congratulations by presenting bouquets.
