Karunanidhi Birth anniversary: Stalin pays floral tributes

Marking the 102nd birth anniversary of former Tamil Nadu Ex-Chief Minister and DMK patriarch M. Karunanidhi, DMK president and Chief Minister M. K. Stalin paid floral tributes at various memorials and statues associated with the late leader across Chennai on
Wednesday.
Karunanidhi, who led the DMK for nearly five decades and served as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister five times, is being remembered across the State through special events and tributes.
His birth anniversary is being observed by party cadres and supporters throughout Tamil Nadu.
Stalin began the day by paying floral tributes at the Karunanidhi Memorial on Marina Beach. Udhayanidhi Stalin, DMK MP Kanimozhi Karunanidhi, ministers, MPs, MLAs and senior party leaders also paid their respects.
He later garlanded Karunanidhi’s statue and paid homage to his portrait at the Omandurar Government Estate complex on Anna Salai. Similar tributes were paid at the Murasoli campus in Kodambakkam and at Anna Arivalayam, the DMK headquarters in Chennai.
As part of the birth anniversary celebrations, Stalin is also scheduled to hoist the DMK flag at the party’s Anbagam headquarters in Teynampet and inaugurate renovated facilities and statues of Periyar E. V. Ramasamy, C. N. Annadurai and Karunanidhi.
