Karunya Christian School organised an inter-school marathon titled ‘Run for Peace’ on September 4, 2026, as part of the birthday celebrations of its Founder, Dr. Paul
Dhinakaran.
The event aimed to inspire young minds to promote peace, unity, harmony and social
responsibility.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Dr. A. Benjamin highlighted the significance of the initiative and stressed the responsibility of the younger generation in building a peaceful and compassionate society.
He said the marathon was not merely a sporting event but a meaningful social initiative encouraging students to stand together for peace, mutual respect and
harmony.
Around 400 students representing different schools participated enthusiastically in the marathon.
The young participants displayed energy, determination and sportsmanship throughout the event, using the run as a platform to promote physical fitness while conveying a message of peace and unity. The winners and outstanding performers were felicitated with medals and certificates in recognition of their achievements.
The event concluded with participating students reaffirming their commitment to becoming ambassadors of peace and positive social change.
The marathon added significance to the Founder’s birthday celebrations at Karunya Christian School by bringing together sports, social responsibility and the message of peace.
