KPR College of Engineering and Technology launched a ‘Center of Excellence’ in collaboration with KONE. This event marked a major initiative to strengthen industry-academic linkages in the field of Vertical Mobility.
The center was inaugurated by Mr. M.P. Saravanan, Senior Director, People, Communications and Social Responsibility (CSR), KONE. The center has been established with the aim of providing vocational training in elevator technology so that students can gain practical experience in modern vertical transportation systems, safety procedures, installation and maintenance methods. For this, modern equipment and simulation facilities have been set up.
Speaking at the event, Mr. M.P. Saravanan said, “It is essential for educational institutions and industry to work together to meet the needs of future industries. World-class skill-based education will lay the foundation for the progress of students.”
The event was attended by Kotresh Jogikalmath of KONE, College Principal Dr. R. Devipriya, Director of the Career Development Center Dr. Thamaraikannan, Head of the Mechanical Department Dr. S. Ramesh Babu, professors and students.
