The National Service Scheme (NSS) of KPR Institute of Engineering and Technology (KPRIET), in association with Arasur Panchayat, organised an awareness programme on solid waste management under the theme “My Village, My Waste, My Responsibility.”
As part of the programme, students and faculty members of KPRIET took out an awareness rally in Arasur to sensitise residents to the importance of cleanliness and responsible waste management.
The participants highlighted the need to segregate household and public waste into biodegradable and non-biodegradable categories, properly handle recyclable materials and maintain cleanliness in residential and public spaces.
The students also stressed the importance of public participation in safeguarding sanitation and environmental cleanliness in the village.
The programme concluded with students, faculty members and other participants taking a pledge to keep the village clean and follow responsible waste management practices.
