The 60th PSG Trophy All India Basketball Tournament entered its third day in Coimbatore on Friday, with the Kerala State Electricity Board (KSEB), Indian Bank and Hindustan University recording victories in the men’s section on the second day.
Organised by PSG Sports Club, the five-day tournament is being conducted from August 26 to 30 at the PSG College of Technology Indoor Sports Complex in Coimbatore.
In the first match played on Thursday, Chennai-based Indian Bank defeated Rest of Tamil Nadu 88-64. In the second match, Thiruvananthapuram-based Kerala State Electricity Board defeated ONGC of New Delhi 70-53.

In the third match, Hindustan University of Chennai edged past the Indian Air Force of New Delhi 70-67.
The men’s tournament features seven teams — Indian Bank of Chennai, Indian Air Force of New Delhi, Indian Navy of Lonavala, ONGC of New Delhi, Kerala State Electricity Board of Thiruvananthapuram, Hindustan University of Chennai and Rest of Tamil Nadu.
The 60th edition also marks the introduction of the first All India Basketball Tournament for women. The women’s tournament begins on Friday and will be held until August 30.
In the men’s matches scheduled for Friday, ONGC will take on KSEB, while Indian Bank will face Rest of Tamil Nadu.
The tournament is being conducted to mark the 60th year of the PSG Trophy basketball competition, which has been organised by PSG Sports Club for several decades.
