Kumaraguru awards Rs 1.6 Crore scholarships to 1675 students

Kumaraguru Institutions awarded scholarships worth Rs 1.6 crore to 1,675 meritorious students at the Mahatma Gandhi Merit Scholarship ceremony held on March 26, recognising academic excellence and overall achievement.
The scholarship, instituted in 2006-07 in honour of founder N. Mahalingam, is awarded to the top 10 per cent performers across Kumaraguru College of Technology, Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science, KCT Business School, Kumaraguru Institute of Agriculture and Kumaraguru School of Business. Each student received Rs 10,000.
Chairman B. K. Krishnaraj Vanavarayar, in his presidential address, paid tribute to the legacy of N. Mahalingam and highlighted education as a key driver of social transformation. He urged students to develop self-belief, determination and the courage to pursue success, stressing that true achievement comes from within.


Chief Guest K. P. Ramasamy, Chairman of KPR Group, praised the institution’s commitment to nurturing talent and emphasised the importance of continuous upskilling and adapting to evolving technologies. He encouraged students to stay relevant in a competitive global environment.
Earlier, M. Ezhilarasi, Principal of Kumaraguru College of Technology, in her welcome address, advised students to uphold gratitude, social responsibility and strong institutional values in their future careers.
The event was attended by M. Balasubramaniam, Correspondent, Kumaraguru Institutions, and Shankar Vanavarayar, President, Kumaraguru Institutions, along with faculty members, staff and students.
