LEAD group hosts Coimbatore regional round of National Championships

LEAD Group, one of India’s leading school learning systems companies, on Tuesday successfully hosted the Coimbatore regional round of its flagship National Championships 2025, bringing together young talent from across southern India.
The event saw participation from nearly 1,200 students, teachers, school leaders and parents representing LEAD-powered schools from Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka.
The Coimbatore round formed part of the seventh edition of the National Championships, which has recorded participation from about 2.4 lakh students across the country this year.
Aimed at building confidence alongside academic learning, the regional rounds are designed to bring national-level exposure closer to students’ own cities.
Participants, ranging from Nursery to Grade 9, took part in live presentations, performances, quizzes and project showcases.

For many students, this marked their first experience of speaking or performing on a large stage before a live audience. Addressing the gathering, LEAD Group CEO and Co-Founder Sumeet Mehta said that while many students possess strong conceptual understanding, they often lack opportunities to express themselves confidently.
He said the National Championships were created to bridge this gap by providing a platform where students can present their ideas, articulate their thinking and gain real-world exposure. He added that the Coimbatore round highlighted how children rise when given the right stage and encouragement.
The championships featured multiple categories catering to different age groups, including Li’l Champs for early learners, Math Champs and English Quiz Champs to strengthen numeracy and language skills, Speech Champs to improve articulation and confidence, Coding Champs to encourage problem-solving through projects, and Science Champs focused on hands-on learning and conceptual clarity.
Winners from each category were felicitated with certificates, trophies and prizes, including laptops and tablets. The top performers will now represent their region at the National Grand Finale scheduled for January 2026, where they will compete with students from across India.
