Let Equality flourish: CM Stalin’s New Year call

As Tamil Nadu bids farewell to 2025 and welcomes the dawn of 2026, Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Tuesday extended English New Year greetings to the people, urging them to strengthen the values of equality, social justice and democratic governance.
In his New Year message, the Chief Minister conveyed his heartfelt wishes to “brothers and sisters” across the State and described 2026 as a year of hope and victory for those committed to democracy.
He said the new year symbolises the struggle to protect people’s rights, while simultaneously safeguarding public welfare.
Referring to the Dravidian ideological tradition, Stalin called upon people to begin the year by celebrating Dravidian Pongal with the slogan, “Let equality flourish, let Tamil Nadu win.”
He said this spirit should guide the State’s journey in the coming year.
The Chief Minister also stressed the importance of people’s participation in public life and cultural expression.
He said the New Year should be celebrated through sports competitions organised by citizens, along with art and literary programmes that reflect the values of social justice and inclusiveness.
Describing 2026 as the beginning of “Dravidian Model 2.0,” Stalin said the coming year would mark a renewed phase of people-centric governance focused on development, equality and welfare.
He expressed confidence that collective efforts would further strengthen Tamil Nadu’s progressive path.
Concluding his message, the Chief Minister reiterated his New Year greetings to all sections of society and expressed hope that 2026 would usher in unity, prosperity and continued progress for the State.
