A Madhi Anubhav Angadi run by a women’s self-help group was opened at Semmozhi Park in the Gandhipuram area of Coimbatore on Friday.
The outlet was inaugurated by Coimbatore Member of Parliament Ganapathy Rajkumar. Products manufactured by women’s self-help groups, including cooking oil, spices, biscuits made from traditional grains, cloth and nylon carry bags, handicrafts, soaps and perfumes, are being sold at the store.
Coimbatore District Collector Pawan Kumar and Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner M. Sivaguru Prabhakaran jointly inaugurated the shop along with the MP and inspected the products on display. They also launched the first sale at the outlet.
Officials said the location was chosen considering the large number of visitors to Semmozhi Park, especially on weekends and during festival seasons.
