Madhya Pradesh DSP Caught Stealing Cash

In a shocking breach of trust, a senior police officer in Madhya Pradesh has been accused of stealing cash and a mobile phone from her close friend’s home. CCTV footage capturing the act has since gone viral, sparking widespread outrage.
The accused, Kalpana Raghuvanshi (56), a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) posted at the Police Headquarters in Bhopal, had been a longtime friend of Pramila Tiwari, a resident of Mahalaxmi Parisar in Jahangirabad.
According to the complaint, on September 24, while Pramila was taking a bath, Kalpana allegedly entered her home and stole Rs 2 lakh in cash from her wallet and her mobile phone. Later, when Pramila reviewed her CCTV footage, she was stunned to see her friend — a senior officer — committing the theft.
When confronted, Kalpana reportedly returned only the phone but refused to give back the cash. Pramila subsequently lodged a complaint at the Jahangirabad Police Station, explaining that the stolen amount had been saved for her daughter’s school fees.
Based on the CCTV footage and Pramila’s statement, a case of theft was registered against DSP Kalpana Raghuvanshi. Since the case was filed, the officer has gone absconding, prompting police to form special teams to track her down.
The viral CCTV video, showing the DSP allegedly stealing money from the house, has triggered public anger and embarrassment for the police department. Senior officials have stated that strict action will be taken once she is apprehended.
