The Madras High Court has granted permission to conduct a DNA test on celebrity chef Madhampatti Rangaraj in connection with a case filed by Joy Crisilda.
The woman had approached the court alleging that she had been deceived after a marriage and sought a genetic test to establish the claim.
Hearing the petition, the court permitted the DNA test to be conducted.
The High Court directed the Advocate General to take necessary steps to facilitate the genetic test.
It also ordered that the test be carried out at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai.
The court further directed that the DNA test report be submitted through the mediator appointed in the case.
Following the order, the court adjourned the hearing of the case to March 30 for further proceedings.
