He said “Every year, thousands of Muslim brothers and sisters from Tamil Nadu undertake the Hajj pilgrimage.
Accommodation facilities have not been provided for them.
In this situation, accepting the long-standing demand of the Muslim community,
we express our gratitude to the Chief Minister for laying the foundation stone for the Tamil Nadu Hajj Committee building near the Chennai airport at a cost of Rs. 39.20 crore, and to the State Chairman of the Hajj Committee, MLA Abdul Samad, and the leader of the Manithaneya Makkal Katchi, Professor Jawahirullah MLA, who recommended this project.”
