Michelin strengthens Tamil Nadu network; opens new stores in Coimbatore, Tirupur

Michelin, the global leader in tyre technology, expanded its retail footprint in Tamil Nadu today by inaugurating three new Michelin Tyres & Services (MTS) stores in Coimbatore and Tirupur. The new outlets were launched in partnership with Covai Tyres, Carzone and Carworld Automotive.
In Coimbatore, Michelin opened two outlets — one with Covai Tyres at Sundarapuram, opposite Titan Paints, and another with Carzone, located opposite ITI College in Goundermills. Covai Tyres, a Michelin partner for over a decade, operates 18 outlets across the region and is known for offering comprehensive tyre solutions and strong service support. Its new Michelin-branded store features modern infrastructure and advanced service capabilities. Carzone’s facility offers a contemporary retail environment equipped with customer-friendly amenities, including a dedicated lounge.
The third outlet was inaugurated in Tirupur in partnership with Carworld Automotive, an exclusive premium car service provider situated on Palladam Road, opposite Abirami TVS. The company is known for delivering high-end automotive service experiences, making it a strategic partner for Michelin’s expansion in the region.
All three new dealerships will offer Michelin’s complete range of premium tyres, alongside advanced diagnostic tools and high-precision equipment for wheel alignment, balancing and comprehensive car care. These facilities aim to provide customers with faster, more accurate and reliable services. The outlets were inaugurated by Prashant Sharma, National Sales Director, Michelin India.
Speaking about the expansion, Shantanu Deshpande, Managing Director, Michelin India, said, “The opening of three new Michelin Tyres & Services Stores in Tamil Nadu reflects our continued investment in expanding our retail network and strengthening consumer access to our products and services. These new touchpoints align with our broader strategy as we prepare to introduce our Made-in-India passenger car tyre range, ensuring we are well positioned to serve the evolving needs of our consumers.”
Tamil Nadu continues to be a key market for Michelin, supported by the company’s tyre production facility in Chennai.
With the addition of these new retail touchpoints and strong collaborations with trusted regional partners, Michelin aims to enhance premium mobility experiences that prioritise safety, durability and performance.
