Minister E.V. Velu Inaugurates Vengikkal Karpagam Cooperative Store

As part of the 72nd All India Cooperative Week celebrations, Minister E.V. Velu inaugurated the new self-service section of the Karpagam Cooperative Special Store at Vengikkal in Tiruvannamalai on Wednesday.
The Cooperative Week is being observed across Tiruvannamalai district till November 20.
Marking the occasion, the upgraded self-service unit—offering a wide range of groceries and cosmetics at affordable prices—was formally opened at Vengikkal.
The event was presided over by District Collector K. Tharpagaraj.
Deputy Speaker K. Pitchandi also presided over the ceremony, while S. Parthiban, Zonal Coordinator of District Cooperative Societies, extended the welcome address.
Minister E.V. Velu, participating as the special invitee, cut the ribbon and lit the traditional lamp to mark the inauguration of the self-service facility.
The event witnessed the participation of DMK Municipal Secretary P. Karthivelmaran, District Treasurer S. Panneerselvam, former Municipal Council Chairman I. Sritharan, Deputy Registrar A. Francis, Assistant Arogya Meri, Vinoth Chandrasekaran, Govindarajulu, Cooperative Registrar S. Sandhya, Managers S. Adhimoolam, A.K. Masilamani, K. Masilamani, J. Sivakumar, K. Dinakaran, and S.Thangadurai.
Trade union representatives J. Arunagiri, P. Pandian, R. Sekar, R. Mahadevan, officers and employees of the Cooperative Department, members of women’s self-help groups, and the general public were present in large
numbers.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by S. Sureshkumar, Cooperative Management
Director.
