Handlooms and Textiles Minister R. Gandhi on Tuesday inaugurated the modernised new sales outlet of the Arignar Anna Silk Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society in Kanchipuram by lighting the traditional lamp and initiating the first sale.
The upgraded outlet has been developed to enhance customer access to handloom silk products and to provide improved marketing support for local weavers. The Minister said the modernisation would help strengthen the handloom sector in the region and ensure better income opportunities for cooperative society members. Director of Handlooms Maheshwari Ravikumar, Kanchipuram District Collector Kalaiselvi Mohan, Uthiramerur MLA K. Sundar, Kanchipuram MLA C.V.M.P. Ezhilarasan, Kanchipuram Corporation Mayor Mahalakshmi Yuvaraj, and Kanchipuram District Union Chairperson Malarkodi Kumar were present at the inauguration ceremony.
