A viral video showing a newly laid road crumbling underfoot has drawn attention to alleged quality lapses in public works in Madhya Pradesh, after Raigaon MLA Pratima Bagri personally inspected the stretch during a field visit.
The incident occurred last Sunday in the Bodhi-Mangari area of the Raigaon Assembly constituency in Satna district. During an inspection tour of the Satnavil region, Pratima Bagri noticed fresh road-laying work underway and decided to check its quality.
Stepping out of her vehicle, the MLA walked onto the newly paved road and pressed the surface with her foot.
To her shock, the road surface reportedly shifted and began to crumble as she continued walking, clearly indicating poor workmanship.
Visibly upset, Pratima Bagri reprimanded officials of the Public Works Department on the spot and questioned how such substandard work could be passed off as a newly constructed road.
She directed officials to take immediate action against those responsible for the lapse.
The video of the inspection has since gone viral on social media, sparking widespread criticism over infrastructure quality and accountability in government projects.
