Prime Minister Narendra Modi met his schoolmate Asgarali Vora, who submitted a petition seeking a CBI probe into an alleged land-grabbing case involving his
property.
Vora, 81, studied with Modi at B.N. High School in Vadnagar, Gujarat.
He resides in Mira Road, Mumbai, and met Modi in Delhi on September 8 to submit a complaint regarding the alleged encroachment of his
land.
Vora said he had legally purchased a 2,810-square-metre plot in Navghar, Bhayandar East,
Mumbai.
He alleged that Swayam Builders and Seven Eleven Constructions had encroached on the property using forged documents. He also alleged that BJP MLA Narendra Mehta had links with Seven Eleven Constructions.
A police case was registered in connection with the alleged land-grabbing incident.
Vora said he had approached the Revenue Department and local administration repeatedly but had not received a resolution.
The case is pending before the court.
After years of pursuing the issue, Vora met Modi in Delhi and explained the land dispute before seeking a CBI investigation.
Following the petition, the local administration has initiated an inquiry. Representatives of the construction companies concerned have been summoned to appear in person for a hearing scheduled for September 16.
