A protest demonstration was held in front of the Coimbatore South Taluk Office by National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parties condemning the State government over various issues.
Thousands of cadre from alliance parties, including the AIADMK and BJP, participated in the protest. Former Minister S.P. Velumani and former BJP State president K. Annamalai were present.
Addressing the gathering, K. Annamalai alleged that Tamil Nadu has witnessed rising concerns over law and order, crime against women and children, and governance in recent years. He claimed that incidents of violence, including crimes against women and children, have increased significantly and questioned the effectiveness of policing and administration.
He referred to recent crime incidents and stated that women’s safety has become a major concern across the State. He also raised issues related to drug trafficking, citing seizures of ganja and synthetic substances, and alleged that the situation reflected administrative lapses.
Annamalai further criticised the government over employment, alleging that promises on job creation had not been fulfilled. He also levelled allegations regarding irregularities in TASMAC operations.
Stating that people were facing multiple challenges, he called upon the public to unite and bring about political change in the forthcoming elections.
