The DMK Mahila Wing Western Zone Conference is being held in Palladam, Tiruppur district today evening (Dec. 29). Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi and others will participate in it.
As the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu approach, the DMK is actively working on the field. It is continuously showcasing its strength with a general committee meeting in Madurai, a Mupperum vizha in Karur, and a Northern Zone Youth Conference in Tiruvannamalai.
DMK, which held the Northern Zone Youth Conference in Tiruvannamalai targeting young voters, has organized the Western Zone Women’s Conference in Karanampettai near Palladam in Tiruppur district under the theme ‘Vellum Tamil Women’, focusing on women.’
Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is scheduled to deliver a special address at the conference to be held this evening (29th) under the leadership of DMK Deputy General Secretary Kanimozhi. Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin, Ministers M.P. Swaminathan, S.Muthusamy, Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, former Minister and Western Region in-charge Senthilbalaji, district secretaries and administrators will participate.
Around one and a half lakh people from 13 party district units and 39 assembly constituencies are scheduled to participate in the conference. Identity cards with separate colors have been issued for each district, which has a population of one and a half lakh women.

While a separate space has been allocated for the administrators from each district to sit, administrators from the Western Region have been appointed as volunteers to organize it. Napkins have been provided to the women attending the conference if needed, and a breastfeeding room has been set up for the mothers. 350 mobile toilets, a mini clinic, and fire engines have also been kept ready. Arrangements have also been made to provide three meals a day and unlimited water.
The conference, which will be held on an area of 150 acres, has a separate area for parking 4,000 vehicles. Parayisai, Silambam, and fireworks show have also been arranged for the women’s conference. It is also planned to take Chief Minister M.K. Stalin to the festival stage in a procession of more than a hundred two-wheelers.
The schemes introduced by the DMK government, such as the Kalaignar women’s right amount, free bus travel, the innovative women’s scheme, and the Thozhi hostel, are displayed as banners all over the conference venue. Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has posted on his X page that the conference to be held in Palladam will tell the history of the struggle of the Dravidian movement to walk with its head held high and the duties to be performed in the future.
There is also speculation that new announcements will be made at this conference, which is aimed at bringing the DMK government’s women’s welfare policies to the people.
1,200 police personnel have been deployed for security at the venue of the conference, headed by Western Zone IG Senthilkumar.
DMK Deputy General Secretary Kanimozhi MP is speaking at the conference being held under the chairmanship of the latter.
A luncheon with 13 types of food is served to all participants of the Women’s Conference. Resolutions are passed at the end of the conference.
Chief Minister Stalin arrived in Coimbatore by plane from Chennai at 11 am today to participate in the conference. Former Minister and Zonal In-charge Senthil Balaji, Ministers M.P. Swaminathan, Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, District Collector Pawankumar K. Kiriyappanavar, Commissioner Siva Guruprabhakaran, District Secretaries Durai. Senthamil Selvan, Thondamuthur Ravi, Commander Murugesan, Mayor Ranganayaki, former Minister M. Kannappan, former MLAs, party executives and the public gathered and gave a warm welcome.
From there, the Chief Minister will rest at a star Hotel in Chinniyampalayam and then travel to Palladam by car at 4 pm. After the conference, he will reach Coimbatore airport at night and depart for Chennai.
Similarly, Deputy Chief Minister Udhayanidhi arrived in Coimbatore this afternoon. From there, he will go to Palladam. After the conference, he will stay at a star hotel in Chinniyampalayam, Coimbatore. Tomorrow, he will inaugurate the Corporation Hockey Stadium built in R.S. Puram.
Later, he leaves for Erode from Coimbatore. On the occasion of the visit of the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, 1,000 police personnel are engaged in security work under the leadership of Coimbatore City Police Commissioner A. Saravanasundhar and S.P. Karthikeyan.
