An intensive search operation was carried out at the Coimbatore District Collector’s Office following yet another bomb threat — the ninth such threat received in recent months.
The threat, issued through an email, created tension among officials and staff.
Bomb detection and disposal personnel immediately arrived at the spot and launched a full-scale search operation.
Teams deployed sniffer dogs and modern bomb-detection equipment to inspect every section of the campus.

Searches were conducted across the main office buildings, parking areas, registry offices, conference halls, and the rear premises. After several hours of inspection, authorities confirmed that the threat was a hoax.
It is significant that this is the ninth bomb threat in the last four months targeting the Coimbatore District Collector’s Office, raising concerns about repeated disruptions and the misuse of emergency services.
Police are investigating the source of the email and efforts are underway to trace the individual responsible for the recurring threats.
