COIMBATORE, NOV. 7:
In a major stride towards strengthening industry-academia partnership, Nirmala College for Women, Coimbatore, has signed 78 Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with various organizations, marking a new milestone in its 78th year of academic excellence.
The Mega MoU Signing Event was held on the college campus under the guidance of Secretary Rev. Sr. Dr. Kulandai Therese and Principal Rev. Sr. Dr. Mary Fabiola, who have been steering the institution toward holistic education, leadership, and women empowerment.
The agreements include collaborations with 40 industries, 15 NGOs, and 23 academic institutions, aiming to expand opportunities for skill-based education, research exposure, internships, entrepreneurship development, and real-time industry training for students.
College officials said the initiative is aligned with Viksit Bharat 2047, the national vision of building a self-reliant and globally competitive India.
To further strengthen employability and skills, the college has tied up with key government and industry-led platforms, including the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC), NASSCOM, and Naan Mudhalvan, offering specialized training and certifications. The institution has also launched the “Vetri Nichayam” programme, a Tamil Nadu Government initiative aimed at empowering unemployed graduates and school dropouts through intensive skill training and job placement support.
Speaking at the event, the college management emphasized that these collaborations reaffirm Nirmala College’s commitment to nurturing confident, socially responsible, and future-ready women, equipping them to play a vital role in the nation’s progress.
