We The Leaders founder Annamalai has said he has no personal connection with Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader Vijay and has never met him in person.
Speaking at a women’s development conference organised by We The Leaders, Annamalai said he had raised questions when the then DMK government allegedly created difficulties for TVK ahead of the elections.
“I have no connection with Vijay. I have never met him, and he has never met me,” he said, adding that he was committed to standing up for what was right, irrespective of political affiliations.
Annamalai said he would appreciate the TVK government if it made the right decisions and criticise it if it made mistakes. He stressed that members of his organisation should follow the same principle.
He also said the organisation needed to prepare eight lakh people ahead of the local body elections expected early next year.
Noting that We The Leaders had 21 lakh members from diverse political backgrounds, including the DMK, AIADMK and Naam Tamilar Katchi, Annamalai urged members to listen to different viewpoints and respect differing political ideologies.
