Orange Economy Can Power India’s Rise, Rajan R. Navani Tells KCLAS Graduates

Rajan R. Navani, Chairman and Managing Director of Jetline Group and Founder of JetSynthesys, on Saturday urged graduating students of Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science to leverage the growing “Orange Economy” to drive innovation and nation-building.
Delivering the Graduation Day address at the institution’s fourth Graduation Ceremony for the Batch of 2024 held at the Kumaraguru campus here, Mr. Navani said India’s youth are at a historic juncture. With nearly 60 per cent of the country’s 1.4 billion population being young, he noted that the coming decades offer an unprecedented opportunity to contribute to India’s transformation into a developed nation.
He highlighted emerging sectors within the creative economy, including the creator ecosystem, esports and digital entertainment, as high-growth avenues capable of generating both economic value and global influence. Addressing concerns surrounding artificial intelligence, Mr. Navani emphasised that AI should be seen as a tool that enhances human creativity rather than replaces it. He called upon students to cultivate resilience, remain present-focused and pursue continuous learning to ensure that human ingenuity remains at the forefront.
A total of 408 students from eight undergraduate and two postgraduate programmes were conferred degrees during the ceremony. Students of the UG 2021–24 and PG 2022–24 batches secured 27 university ranks, including four gold medals, marking a significant academic achievement.
Shri Shankar Vanavarayar, President of Kumaraguru Institutions, in his presidential address, urged the graduates to embody courage, compassion, character and curiosity. Reflecting on the institution’s 42-year legacy, he recalled the vision of founder Arutchelvar Dr. N. Mahalingam and reiterated the commitment to nation-building through youth empowerment.
Dr. C. Deepesh, Principal of Kumaraguru College of Liberal Arts and Science, presented the college report and highlighted key milestones, including the institution becoming the first arts and science college in India to receive the QS I-GAUGE Diamond rating. He also noted that over 130 full scholarships are currently supporting meritorious students and athletes.
The ceremony celebrated academic excellence while inspiring graduates to contribute meaningfully to society and the nation.
