District Collector Pawan Kumar G. Giriyappanavar, IAS, received petitions from the public at the Public Grievance Redressal Day meeting held at the Coimbatore District Collectorate on Monday and directed officials to take swift action.
A total of 1,382 petitions were submitted covering various demands, including old age pension, change of land patta, issuance of new family cards and house site pattas. Of these, 112 petitions sought free housing, 1,066 were related to house site pattas, six pertained to employment and 198 involved other grievances.
The Collector forwarded the petitions to the respective department officials and instructed them to process the applications and ensure action within the stipulated time frame.
District Revenue Officer P. Narayanan, Personal Assistant to the Collector (Agriculture) Ananthakumar, TADCO General Manager Ranjithkumar, Adi Dravidar and Tribal Welfare Officer Manimegalai, Differently Abled Welfare Officer Vasantharaman Kumar and other officials were present.
Later, on behalf of the Differently Abled Welfare Department, the Collector distributed marriage assistance of Rs 50,000 each along with eight grams of gold coins to five differently abled beneficiaries under the State government’s Marriage Financial Assistance Scheme.
