A passenger has landed in trouble after a video showing him bathing inside a moving train went viral on social media, prompting swift action from the Indian Railways. The video, filmed near the toilet area, showed the man using a bucket, mug, and soap — an act that triggered widespread criticism online for misusing public transport facilities.
According to officials, the incident took place aboard a train stationed at Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh. The man, whose identity has been confirmed, admitted during inquiry that he filmed the video himself in an attempt to gain attention and followers on social media platforms.
“The individual confessed that the video was staged to gain popularity. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has initiated legal proceedings against him for creating a nuisance and violating travel decorum,” said a senior railway official.
The North Central Railway strongly condemned the act, describing it as irresponsible behaviour that sets a poor example for other passengers. Authorities also appealed to the public to use railway premises responsibly and avoid activities that could inconvenience others or compromise cleanliness standards.
Railways officials further warned that similar stunts intended for social media fame will be met with stringent legal action to preserve the dignity and safety of train travel.
