The 147th birth anniversary of social reformer Periyar E.V. Ramasamy was commemorated in Coimbatore today with floral tributes and special events.
At Gandhipuram, DMK city district president N. Karthik led the wreath-laying ceremony at Periyar’s statue. Later, Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam state general secretary K. Ramakrishnan and party members also paid their respects.
DMK Gandhipuram area secretary Sethuraman, Vadavalli Shanmugasundaram, Film Director Raghunath of Race Course, Arusamy, and several party cadres and supporters participated in the event, highlighting Periyar’s enduring legacy in the struggle for social justice and equality.
