Plastic bags worth Rs. 6 lakh seized from a private company operating without permission near
Modakurichi.
The district environment officers received information that a company manufacturing plastic bags was operating without permission in the Solar CSI Colony area under Modakurichi police station limits.
Following this, District Environment Engineer Rajkumar, Assistant Engineer Deenadayalan, Modakurichi Block Development Officer Thirunavukkarasu and others inspected the company on Monday.
At that time, it was confirmed that Nirmal Kumar (41) from Gujarat was involved in the production of plastic bags using four machines.
Following this, the authorities seized 6000 kg of plastic bags and machines worth Rs. 6 lakh from there.
They also recommended to the Electricity Board to disconnect the power supply of the company.
