Politician drives tractor onto pitch

A local political functionary allegedly drove a tractor onto a cricket ground and damaged the pitch during an ongoing match in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra, reportedly angered over not being invited to the event. The incident occurred during the final of the MLA Cup cricket tournament held in Dharangaon, where several prominent local leaders were invited to attend and distribute prizes.
According to reports, the chairman of the local municipal council was upset over not receiving a proper invitation. In a dramatic turn, he drove a tractor onto the field while the match was in progress, ploughing the pitch and bringing the game to an abrupt halt.
Players and spectators were left shocked as the pitch was severely damaged, forcing organisers to suspend the match midway.
Police rushed to the spot and dispersed the crowd, restoring order. Officials said no formal complaint had been lodged in connection with the incident, and no case has been registered so far. A video of the act has since gone viral on social media, sparking widespread criticism and controversy.
