Poll alliance about to change before Pongal?

In 2021, the BJP, which contested 20 seats in the AIADMK alliance, won only 4 seats. When it contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections alone, it could not win a single seat. Now that the BJP has formed an alliance with the AIADMK again for the 2026 elections, it is aiming to defeat the DMK.
But no other new party has joined this alliance yet. The parties opposing the DMK in Tamil Nadu are divided. While OPS and TTV Dinakaran’s party are on one side, Vijay’s party is also on its own.
It is reported that Amit Shah is unhappy with Edappadi Palaniswami’s inability to bring other parties under a single alliance. This is why Amit Shah is said to have not met Edappadi Palaniswami even after coming to Tamil Nadu.

That is why BJP has intensified efforts to form an alliance with Vijay’s party, party sources say. But the TVK faction says there is no chance of forming an alliance with the BJP, which is its political enemy.
Furthermore, it is said that Amit Shah had instructed the other day that “There should be only a DMK alliance & NDA alliance in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections. Votes cannot be divided. A grand alliance should be formed by Pongal.” In order to convey this, Amit Shah left without meeting Palaniswami.
