The Postgraduate Training Program 2026 was inaugurated at the Department of Psychiatry, PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, PSG Hospitals, Coimbatore, on March 14, 2026. The program was organized in association with the Indian Psychiatric Society – Tamil Nadu Chapter and the Kongunadu Branch.
Syed Ummar I., Chairman of the Organizing Committee, delivered the welcome address. Priyadharshini T., Senior Resident, Department of Psychiatry, rendered the prayer song.
The presidential address was delivered by C. Sadhanand, President of the Tamil Nadu Chapter of the Indian Psychiatric Society. T.M. Subba Rao, Principal of PSG Institute of Medical Sciences and Research, delivered the inaugural address.
Y. Arul Prakash, President of the South Zone of the Indian Psychiatric Society, participated as the Guest of Honour and addressed the gathering.
During the event, N. Arunkumar, Honorary General Secretary of the Tamil Nadu Chapter of the Indian Psychiatric Society, presented the IPS–TN Annual Report.
The training program aims to enhance the academic knowledge and clinical skills of postgraduate students in psychiatry and provide updated insights into modern mental health care practices. The vote of thanks was delivered by Pradeep Palaniappan, Secretary of the Organizing Committee. The program concluded with the National Anthem.
