Eminent academician and institution builder Prof. Sudhir K. Jain, Chairman, Board of Governors, IITRAM, interacted with faculty members and students of PSG Institutions during two special sessions held at PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, on Monday.
The programmes were organised as part of the Centenary Celebrations of PSG & Sons’ Charities and the Platinum Jubilee Celebrations of PSG College of Technology.
Prof. Jain has served as Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University, Director of IIT Gandhinagar and Professor of Civil Engineering at IIT Kanpur.
The morning session, titled “Building Faculty, Building Institutions: An Interactive Conversation with the Faculty Members of PSG Institutions”, focused on faculty development, institutional growth and academic leadership.
The programme was presided over by Dr. G. Chandramohan, Secretary, PSGCT & PSGPC. Prof. C. G. Sivakumar, HoD (i/c), Department of Civil Engineering, delivered the welcome address, while Dr. S. Praveen Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, proposed the vote of thanks.
The afternoon session, titled “Making the Most of Your College Years: A Conversation”, was held at the Centenary Auditorium, providing students an opportunity to interact directly with Prof. Jain and gain insights from his experience in higher education and institutional leadership.
Dr. G. Thilagavathi, Principal (FAC), PSG College of Technology, presided over the student interaction. Dr. B. Sridevi, Vice-Principal – Women Welfare, delivered the welcome address. Dr. G. Chandramohan presented a memento to Prof. Jain, while Dr. S. Saravanan, Dean – Administration, proposed the vote of thanks.
The two sessions witnessed meaningful interaction between Prof. Jain and the PSG academic community, with discussions focusing on faculty development, institution building, academic leadership and making the most of the college experience.
