World Cancer Day was observed at the PSG Hospital campus here on Wednesday with a joint programme organised by PSG Institute of Oncology, the Indian Medical Association and the Coimbatore Cancer Foundation.

The observance was held under the theme “United by Unique,” highlighting the need for collective action while recognising the individual journey of every cancer patient. Oncologists from PSG, office-bearers of the Indian Medical Association and members of the Coimbatore Cancer Foundation participated in the programme.
As part of the event, participants tied awareness ribbons on a tree within the hospital campus, symbolising solidarity with cancer patients and survivors and reaffirming their commitment to cancer awareness and care.

A special musical orchestra performance by students of PSG was also organised in honour of cancer warriors. The performance paid tribute to the courage and resilience of patients and survivors while spreading a message of hope and unity.
Doctors and organisers stressed the importance of early detection, timely treatment and community support in the fight against cancer, calling for sustained awareness efforts throughout the year.
