The 22nd Graduation Ceremony of PSG College of Physiotherapy was conducted with academic dignity and pride on Friday at the PSG ISM&R Auditorium.
The Chief Guest, Dr. M. Hamsraj, Director and Chief Consultant, Physiocare Physiotherapy Centre, Chennai, graced the occasion. A senior sports and orthopaedic physiotherapist with over 30 years of experience, he has treated eminent personalities including Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar, and has mentored more than 300 physiotherapists across
India.
A doctorate holder from the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, he is a recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Indian Association of Physiotherapists.
The programme began with an invocation, followed by the welcome address by Prof. R. Mahesh, Principal. Shri L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee of PSG & Sons’ Charities, presided over the function.
The highlight of the ceremony was the conferment of degrees and the convocation address by Dr. Hamsraj. Sharing experiences of working with distinguished personalities such as A. R. Rahman, he advised graduates to follow five essential practices—correct posture, adequate hydration, balanced nutrition, regular physical activity and proper sleep—and urged them to trust their own judgement.
A total of 153 students (141 undergraduate and 12 postgraduate), including 13 gold medallists and 17 silver medallists, received their degrees and medals. Best Outgoing Awards were presented to Anu Valliammai A.L., Subhashini A., Saliha H. and Indumathy P. In the postgraduate category, Aishwarya Shamini M. received the award for overall academic excellence.
The oath of professionalism was administered by Prof. Y. Ashraf, Vice Principal. As part of the Silver Jubilee celebrations, the e-magazine PRIDE–2025 was released. The vote of thanks was proposed by Prof. P. Shanmugapriya.
