PSG Tech honours 560 Electrical and allied Engineering graduates

PSG College of Technology honoured 560 undergraduate and postgraduate graduates from its Electrical and Allied Engineering programmes at the Award Ceremony 2026 held at the Centenary Auditorium on the college campus.
The ceremony assumed special significance as it coincided with the Platinum Jubilee celebrations of PSG College of Technology and the Centenary of PSG & Sons’ Charities. Dr. S. Somanath, former Chairman of ISRO and former Secretary, Department of Space, Government of India, was the chief guest, while Dr. P. R. Thyla, Principal (Full Additional Charge), presided over the function.
Addressing the graduates, Dr. S. Somanath emphasised the importance of a strong mathematical foundation, innovation and mentorship in solving complex engineering challenges. He encouraged students to embrace entrepreneurship, remain open to new ideas and contribute to nation-building.
In her address, Dr. P. R. Thyla highlighted the growing role of artificial intelligence in transforming engineering education and urged graduates to pursue lifelong learning and multidisciplinary collaboration.
Degrees were awarded to graduates from the Departments of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Robotics and Automation Engineering, Fashion Technology, and Textile Technology. Department toppers were also honoured with Gold Medals for their outstanding academic achievements.
