PSGR Krishnammal College students excels at inter-department sports

PSGR Krishnammal College for Women celebrated the valedictory function of the KPL Pro Inter-Department Sports Championship on Tuesday, marking the successful conclusion of the annual sports meet held to promote fitness, teamwork and competitive spirit among students.
The chief guest for the occasion was Rtn. Ruckmani V, an alumna of the 1987 batch, entrepreneur, actress and social worker, who inspired the students through her address, urging them to pursue excellence both on and off the field. The event was graced by college dignitaries including Dr. R. Nandini, Chairperson; Dr. N. Yesodha Devi, Secretary; G. Kalavathi, Dean; Dr. P. B. Harathi, Principal; and Mrs. Sugantha Sampathkumar, Senior Physical Director, who encouraged the participants and commended their sportsmanship. In the overall championship standings, the Department of Zoology emerged as champions with 45 points. The Departments of Mathematics and Social Work jointly secured the second position with 40 points, followed by the Department of Chemistry in third place with 35 points. The Departments of Botany and Economics shared the fourth position with 30
points. The Best Department Award was won by the Department of Botany, while the Best Leaders Award was conferred on the Department of English Literature (Aided). The valedictory function concluded with the distribution of trophies and certificates, celebrating the achievements of students and reaffirming the institution’s commitment to holistic education through academics and sports.
