Putin’s visit to India attracts world attention

Russia, a superpower, and India, a powerful country in the world, have been friends for a long time. In this context, Russian President Vladimir Putin is coming to India today on a 2-day visit. Putin last visited India in 2021. Putin’s return to India after about 4 years has assumed significance.
Prime Minister Modi will host a dinner for Russian President Putin, who is arriving in Delhi this evening. After that, the leaders of the two countries and representatives of both countries will participate in the 23rd India-Russia Summit tomorrow.
Meanwhile, just hours before Putin’s arrival in Delhi, the Russian parliament has approved a historic agreement. According to this agreement, the two countries can use military bases, called ‘Relos’, for mutual use. This means that the militaries of both countries can use military bases, ports and airspace without any restrictions.
Meanwhile, as Russian President Putin arrives in India, European countries have approached India regarding the war in Ukraine. This is Putin’s first visit to India since the war with Ukraine began. Several European diplomats have also said that they have personally requested the Indian government to approach Putin to end the war. These countries consider the conflict a threat to their existence and European security.
The US and European countries are pressuring India to stop buying oil from Russia. US President Trump has imposed additional tariffs on Indian goods. In this context, the upcoming talks between Putin and Modi will be watched internationally. Moreover, there have been a series of talks between Modi & Putin since 2022, when the Ukraine war began. The leaders of the two countries have spoken a total of 16 times.
There is no doubt that President Putin’s visit will strengthen the relationship between Russia and India, and that Prime Minister Modi will again talk to Putin to end the Ukraine war, as the world expects.
Let’s welcome President Putin & may all good things happen!
