Rahul Gandhi Gifts New Bicycle to Flood-Hit Boy in Punjab

Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has fulfilled a promise he made to a six-year-old boy while visiting flood-affected areas of Punjab earlier this week.

Heavy rains and flooding had struck several parts of Punjab last week. During his visit to assess the damage the day before yesterday, Gandhi toured Ghonewal village in Ajnala area of Amritsar district, where he met families hit by the floods.

There, six-year-old Amritpal Singh, son of Ravidas Singh, broke down while telling Gandhi that his bicycle had been damaged in the floodwaters. Gandhi consoled the boy and promised to get him a new one.

True to his word, a brand-new bicycle was delivered to Amritpal. Gandhi later spoke to the child via video call, asking if he liked the cycle. The boy replied happily, and Gandhi thanked him in return.
