Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) founder Dr. S. Ramadoss today announced the appointment of Tamilkumaran, son of party State President G.K. Mani, as the new Youth Wing President.
Speaking to reporters at Tailapuram in Villupuram district, Dr. Ramadoss said the appointment was the fulfillment of a long-cherished wish. “Today is a happy day. Tamilkumaran will serve as the PMK Youth Wing President, and I am confident he will excel in this role,” he declared.
Recounting earlier developments, Ramadoss revealed that Tamilkumaran was briefly appointed earlier but faced opposition from PMK President Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss, who asked him to step down. Later, his grandson Mukundan was entrusted with the position during a party general body meeting, which led to differences. “Now, I have once again appointed Tamilkumaran as Youth Wing President. He has the capability and commitment to perform well,” Ramadoss said.
On the occasion, Dr. Ramadoss, accompanied by his daughter Gandhimathi, presented the appointment letter to Tamilkumaran, formally inducting him into the role.
Party sources said the appointment signals an effort to strengthen PMK’s youth base and energise its cadre ahead of future political challenges in Tamil Nadu.
