Ramadoss breaks down in tears at PMK meet

An emotional moment marked the Pattali Makkal Katchi general council meeting here on Sunday when party founder S. Ramadoss broke down in tears during his address, creating a stir among cadres and political observers.
Referring to past developments, Ramadoss said he had been deeply hurt by the actions of party president Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss, describing the experience as being attacked “like a spear to the chest and back.” He recalled an earlier controversy involving a social media post that allegedly called for his murder, stating that Anbumani had held him responsible at the time. Ramadoss added that the incident continued to trouble him emotionally and mentioned that his late mother had appeared in his dreams, leaving him shaken. In a strongly worded speech, Ramadoss accused Anbumani of insulting both him and Dr. G. K. Mani, the party’s honorary president, whom he praised as a leader who had worked tirelessly for the party and society. He said that as a father he had done everything possible for Anbumani, but was now facing direct criticism and attacks. Addressing speculation over PMK’s alliance ahead of the elections, Ramadoss said he was aware of the public and political curiosity surrounding the issue. He clarified that no immediate announcement would be made. Consultations had already been held with district secretaries and senior functionaries, and the alliance decision would be taken based on their collective views. He asserted that PMK would align itself with a winning front. At the same time, Ramadoss made it clear that Dr. Anbumani Ramadoss would continue as party president and said there was no scope for replacing him. He called upon party workers to remain united and work tirelessly to ensure the success of the alliance and the party in the coming political battle.
