Popular Kerala rapper Vedan, known offstage as Hirandas Murali, has married his longtime partner, writer Navami Latha, in a simple registered ceremony.
The couple formalised their marriage at the Sembukkavu Sub-Registrar’s Office in Thrissur in the presence of close friends and family members.
Born in Thrissur to Murali, a Kerala native, and a Sri Lankan Tamil mother from Jaffna, Vedan rose to prominence during the 2020 pandemic with his debut independent track Voice of the Voiceless, released on YouTube. The song, which questioned caste and religious oppression with hard-hitting lyrics, brought him statewide recognition.
He has since contributed songs to films including Manjummel Boys and All We Imagine As Light, while continuing to focus on independent music projects.
The news of his wedding has been widely shared by fans on social media, with many congratulating the couple.
