Rare white lion cubs born in Venezuela

Two rare white lion cubs have been born at a wildlife park in the Maracay region of Aragua state, Venezuela, bringing cheer to wildlife lovers and conservationists.
Zoo officials said the newborn cubs belong to the rare white mutation of the African lion (Panthera leo), originally native to South Africa.
White lions are not a separate species but are a result of a rare genetic condition known as leucism.
The cubs were born to a pair of white lions named Kamadagua and Sebastian, which were earlier brought to Venezuela from a wildlife park in the Czech Republic.
The newborn cubs are now under close observation and are being cared for by zoo staff with the support of veterinary doctors. White lions are considered extremely rare across the world and are listed among endangered wildlife populations. It is estimated that only around 200 white lions remain globally, most of them in captivity and protected reserves.
Zoo authorities said special care is being taken to ensure the health and safety of the cubs, and their condition is said to be stable.
