Red soil dust troubles residents along Vadavalli-Marudamalai road

Residents and motorists have raised concerns over the poor condition of the Vadavalli-Marudamalai road near Coimbatore, where heavy traffic is reported throughout the day.
A portion of the road was dug up around six months ago, reportedly for underground drainage or drinking water pipeline works. Residents alleged that after the work, the excavated stretch was merely covered with soil and left without being properly restored.
As vehicles pass through the damaged stretch, red soil dust rises and settles on pedestrians and two-wheeler riders. Residents said children and elderly people are particularly affected by the dust, while school students travelling along the road during morning and evening hours also face considerable inconvenience.
Residents and motorists have urged the Highways Department to restore the dug-up portion and lay a proper tar road.
They warned that a protest would be held if the road was not completely repaired.
