Rescue minors from the web monster!

Australia is the first country in the world to completely ban children under the age of 16 from using social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube. Countries such as France, Indonesia, Norway, Spain and Denmark have also taken this step.
It was in this context that the Union Finance Ministry released the Economic Survey for the year 2026. In it, it was stated that the uncontrolled use of social media is greatly affecting the mental health, academic performance, and social behavior of Indian children and that many children are deteriorating due to this social media addiction. This shocked the people of the country.
Taking note of this official study, the Union Government has also sought to take steps to protect children from the harmful effects of social media. Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav confirmed that it is considering this in this regard.
It is in this context that Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced in the state assembly yesterday, amidst a loud reception, that children under the age of 16 will be banned from using social media. For the first time among the Indian states, Karnataka has started a charity by tying a bell to a cat. The bell-ringing immediately echoed in Andhra Pradesh. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has also announced that children under the age of 13 will be banned from using social media. The list of these states should be extended.
All states in India, including Tamil Nadu, should immediately undertake this effort to rescue minors from the web monster. In this regard, the Union Government should coordinate with all the states and implement this revival plan 100 percent successfully, which is what the people of the country… especially the parents of minors want.
Let us give a royal salute to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and express our appreciation. Let us pledge to rescue children from social media addiction and guide them to a better life!
