The Association of University Teachers (AUT), Tamil Nadu, organised a felicitation function for more than 50 retiring teachers at Sri Venkateswara College of Computer Applications and Management, Ettimadai, Coimbatore, on Sunday.
The programme began with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by the traditional lighting of the lamp. Prof. J. Gandhiraj, President, AUT, presided over the function, while Dr. A. Xavior Selvakumar, General Secretary, AUT, delivered the welcome address.
More than 50 retiring teachers from various colleges and educational institutions were felicitated in recognition of their dedicated service to higher education and the teaching community. The programme highlighted their contributions to academics and their years of service to students and society.
Dr. K. Vijayarani, Controller of Examinations, Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, was the Guest of Honour and addressed the gathering. Dr. P. Jayagandhi, Former National Secretary, AIFUCTO and Former President, AUT, delivered the special address. Prof. U. M. Ravichandran, Former Secretary, AUT KASC Unit, and P. Sivagnanam of MUTA also addressed the gathering.
Rtn. MD. Cdr. K. Velu, Chairman, Sri Venkateswara Group of Institutions, Coimbatore, felicitated the retiring teachers.
University and college teachers, AUT office-bearers, representatives of teachers’ organisations and well-wishers attended the function.
