Rotary Clubs unite for mega preventive health and liver fibroScan camp

The Rotary Clubs of Coimbatore conducted a mega Rotary Cluster Preventive Health Camp and Liver FibroScan Camp at Kovai Diabetes Speciality Center & Hospital, Ram Nagar, as part of an initiative to promote preventive healthcare and community wellness.
The camp was jointly organised by the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Saicity, Rotary Club of Coimbatore Texcity, Rotary Club of Coimbatore Sangamam and Rotary Club of Coimbatore Legend under Rotary District 3206.
The camp was inaugurated at 9.45 a.m. by District Director Rtn. Manivannan, GGR Rtn. Tulasi Sethu, Rotary Club of Coimbatore Saicity President Rtn. Dr. R. Balamurugan and Rotary Club of Coimbatore Sangamam President Rtn. Sakthivel. District Governor Rtn. Maruti of the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Texcity also visited the venue and participated in the programme.
Around 50 Rotarians and their family members benefited from the subsidised health screening services. The major attraction of the camp was the advanced Liver FibroScan test, offered to participants at a subsidised cost of ₹1,000 per person against the regular market price of ₹5,000 to ₹6,000.
Members and spouses of the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Saicity also availed themselves of a comprehensive preventive health package at a concessional rate of ₹2,000. The package included fasting and post-prandial plasma glucose tests, HbA1c, kidney function tests, liver function tests, complete blood count, lipid profile, ECG and thyroid function tests.
Speaking on the occasion, Rtn. Dr. R. Balamurugan stressed the importance of early diagnosis in preventing and managing lifestyle-related diseases, stating that regular screening camps play a vital role in safeguarding long-term health.
The camp concluded at 1 p.m., with the organisers expressing gratitude to the medical team of Kovai Diabetes Speciality Center & Hospital for their support and smooth coordination throughout the programme.
