Rotary Coimbatore Millennium honours Avila Convent Principal with excellence award

Rotary Coimbatore Millennium conferred Rotary’s prestigious Vocational Excellence Award on Rev. Sr. Priya Rose, Principal of Avila Convent Matric Higher Secondary School, at a grand ceremony held at the school auditorium on Thursday.
Dr. B.K. Krishnaraj Vanavarar, Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Coimbatore Chapter, and Chairman of Kumaraguru College of Technology, attended the function as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, he spoke on the importance of youth empowerment and stressed the need for students to uphold moral values and follow the ideals of Swami Vivekananda and the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi.
Recalling that Rotary Coimbatore West had honoured Mother Teresa with an award in 1979, Dr. Krishnaraj Vanavarar expressed confidence that Rev. Sr. Priya Rose would also continue to achieve remarkable milestones in the years ahead. He appreciated Rotary Coimbatore Millennium for consistently identifying deserving personalities for the Vocational Excellence Award.
The chief guest also lauded the school band troupe for winning a recent National Band Competition and for being selected to perform at the Republic Day Parade in New Delhi. He presented framed photographs capturing moments from the Republic Day Parade to all participating students.
