Rs 224 cr allotted for Pongal Gift scheme in Erode district

Housing Minister S Muthusamy inaugurated Pongal gift distribution including rice, sugar, sugarcane, dhothi, saree, Rs 3000 to ration cardholders at a Rationshop at Manikkampalayam Erode on Wednesday.
He said that Rs 224 cr worth pongal gifts would be given to 7.46 lakh cardholders in the district during the next 4 days. When his attention was drawn on the opposition leader’s filing of Rs 4 lakh cr corruption charges against DMK rule to the Governor, he said that his charges were not true.
