Sarang Summer Exhibition opens in Coimbatore

The Sarang 2026 summer exhibition, curated by members of the Crafts Council of Tamil Nadu, began in Coimbatore on Thursday, offering a wide range of sustainable fashion, handlooms and lifestyle products.
The two-day exhibition, being held on January 9 and 10, is hosted at 77 Degree East on Central Studio Road, just off Trichy Road. Organisers said the event is expected to be a major attraction for shoppers, with a majority of participating labels showcasing in Coimbatore for the first time.
The Crafts Council of Tamil Nadu, now in its 38th year, works for the upliftment of crafts and artisans across the State. It is affiliated to the Crafts Council of India, Chennai, which in turn is linked to the World Crafts Council.

Sarang, now in its fourth edition, focuses on easy summer wear and light festive collections, keeping the Pongal season in mind. Designers working on sustainability and traditional Indian handlooms and weaves form the core of the exhibition. Textiles, saris, apparel for men, women and children, jewellery, silks and home décor items are on display across 32 stalls.
Visitors can also enjoy a curated selection of food and beverages from popular city restaurants including Little Soi, Rasanai and Petite Dou.

Organisers said Sarang, along with the council’s flagship exhibition Srishti held every September, serves as a key fundraiser to support year-long activities of the council and to subsidise participation costs for artisans at the annual Crafts Bazaar in Coimbatore. The Crafts Bazaar provides a platform for artisans from across India to exhibit and sell their products, directly supporting the council’s objective of promoting traditional crafts.
The exhibition is open to the public from 10.30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
